Since the end of November 2007 I have not been allowed to work in Canada. I am however, permitted to freelance for people in the UK as long as my pay gets deposited into my UK bank account. This has worked out quite well so far. The only draw back is that I work part time hours and sometimes have weeks were there is no work at all. This gives me spare time, which in the beginning I wasn’t really used to. I have used this time wisely and offered my services for the Senior Services Society and Vagabond Players. However, volunteering doesn’t always use up all my extra spare time. Then I remembered some art activities that I used to do when I was a kid.
There is a three floor hobby shop near the bottom on 6th Street in New Westminster. While browsing the store I discovered Engraving Art by Royal & Langnickel, wow… I used to love these when I was a kid. I have purchased two designs: Copper Giraffe & Baby and Silver Elephant & Baby.

I am finding it quite relaxing and enjoyable. If I don’t mess up the designs I might frame them and hang them on one of the many walls that is currently very bare!
Some time in the future I might try to Paint My Own Masterpiece. My art skills have diminished considerably since I left high school some 12 years ago. These little pre-designed art projects might get me back in the swing and reignite the arty side of my brain.
